SEPTEMBER 14th • SOROCABA – SP – BRAZIL

The Hearth Summit São Paulo is a licensed event by The Wellbeing Project, a global network of over 1,200 organizations, including grassroots networks, global organizations, foundations, intermediaries, universities, and progressive companies. Together, they:
• Deepen the knowledge base to place well-being at the heart of social change;
• Learn and act collectively to support changemakers and their organizations;
• Host gatherings that galvanize a culture of well-being at both regional and global levels;
• Integrate a narrative of well-being with social change.
Since its inception in 2014, The Wellbeing Project has been designed as a co-creation to drive cultural and systemic change, in partnership with Ashoka, Georgetown University, Impact Hub, Porticus, Skoll Foundation, and Synergos.
Today, more than 60 institutions worldwide, including Facens University, are part of this co-creation.
In 2024, 15 regional Hearth Summits will take place around the world, with the Brazilian edition being held in Sorocaba, São Paulo!
Following the success of the regional summit in 2023, this year’s Hearth Summit São Paulo will offer an intellectual and emotional journey filled with inspiring discussions and experiences. Well-being will be the catalyst for change, exploring areas such as the arts, conscious human development, longevity, integrative health, ecological belonging, and ancestry, among others.
The theme of our regional edition – (RE)CONNECT – is an invitation to all who wish to contribute to meaningful change and experience a new level of awareness.

VISION
The Hearth Summit São Paulo aims to promote knowledge, information, tools, experiences, and awareness about the broad theme of Wellbeing and all it encompasses.

We will hold a Council, a practice inspired by indigenous traditions and systematized by the Ojai Foundation. The Council has become central to the Zen Peacemakers Order, as a form of contemplative action for building peace in society. During the Council, we gather in a circle, creating a sacred space around the fire to deeply listen to each other. We remain present to whatever arises in the circle, listening and speaking from the heart, open and attentive to what each person shares in this space of trust and confidentiality. At the Hearth Summit São Paulo, we propose focusing the Council on experiences in higher education.

Those who understand food live better and save more
Mariana Silva Marcili
SESI
The “Eat Well” Program, offered by the Social Service of Industry of São Paulo (SESI-SP), is a benchmark in food and nutritional education, health, economy, and sustainability. It encourages the habit of fully utilizing fruits, vegetables, and legumes to prepare nutritious, flavorful, and waste-free recipes.
Launched more than two decades ago, the program began when SESI-SP nutritionists noticed the food waste habits of industrial workers in São Paulo and their families, who were often unaware of the culinary properties of peels, seeds, stems, and other parts of food. In an effort to educate the public on food and nutrition, the team developed recipes focused on this full utilization, with pillars of economy, taste, and nutritional benefits.
Gradually, the “Eat Well” program gained visibility and reached thousands of people of all ages through the dissemination of recipes in courses held in SESI-SP’s educational kitchens and mobile units, lessons on Canal Futura, as well as in governmental and non-governmental institutions, and charitable and philanthropic organizations.
Mariana Silva Marcili, a Quality of Life nutritionist, has been with SESI/SP for 2 years, working on the “Eat Well” Program.
In partnership with industries and municipalities, she develops projects focused on food and nutritional education, health, economy, and sustainability. The goal is to encourage the habit of fully utilizing fruits, vegetables, and legumes in the preparation of nutritious, delicious, and waste-free recipes.
These services are provided on-site or through the Mobile Healthy Life Unit, a traveling educational kitchen adapted in a semi-trailer.

Stella Pereira de Almeida
VISUAL ARTIST
Stella Pereira Almeida, who holds a postdoctoral degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from USP, worked in her field for 35 years, a period she considers Cycle 1 of her life. She then decided to dedicate herself exclusively to artistic activities, which had previously been a hobby but became her main focus, marking the start of her Cycle 2.
Stella specializes in upcycling, primarily working with glass but also incorporating other materials. At Oficina Ciclo 2, she repurposes discarded items, reimagines scrap materials, and rethinks their functions. Broken glass, metal scraps, and damaged objects become her raw materials, entering their second life cycle.
This new cycle, facilitated by Stella’s artistic intervention, transforms these materials into expressions of art, aesthetics, and transformation. Her work in upcycling makes these pieces more beautiful, chic, necessary, and contemporary, thereby fostering greater interest in sustainable art consumption. The process is highly effective in raising awareness about sustainability and inherently embodies environmental responsibility.

Exhibition ” “Entre as Flores”
Irani Tomazella
VISUAL ARTIST
“Flowers that will speak to you of love… much more than my own words.” The painted canvases reflect the vibrant colors and magic of flowers, bringing people into a world created and observed by me through shapes and colors. The works are predominantly created using palette knives and brushes, mainly palette knives, within an impressionist style.
Irani Tomazella’s work is characterized by suggestive emotion and a gradual purity of forms. As an artist, she constantly studies and researches painting to find more immediate and effective ways to be a true interpreter of our time. Her relentless pursuit began with traditional academic training, progressing through graphic initiation, gestural painting, and the most advanced forms, leading her to highly fruitful results in discovering essential innovations in art.
Undoubtedly a poet with her brushes and palette knives, Tomazella finds inspiration and skill in her hands when facing a canvas or panel, guiding her with deep-rooted development and a transparent load of suggestive emotion.
Her recent experiences have resulted in a gradual purity of forms, a sensation of composition applied to themes that seem to emerge from the nuances of dreams, blending into the color. This color conveys the expressive force of a state of soul, becoming not just color but also vision, figure, nature, and a touching choice.
Irani Tomazella now presents a mature painting style, the result of evolutionary efforts that led her to attempt something new and of greater interest, featuring female figures enveloped by nature. Following the delicate thread of sensations, the artist has listened to the voices of a world seeking to touch the soul of the viewer through new techniques and color harmonies.
